I'm in love.... I'm totally utterly in love with Bethan Gray absolutely beautiful wallpaper collection Nizwa, featuring the technique of marquetry with mother of pearl, in collaboration with NLXL, the pioneers of digital wallpaper.
Bethan Gray, winner of the Best British Design Award 2013/14 has an impressive background. Her family hails from an ancient Rajasthani clan that over centuries migrated across Arabia and Persia before settling in the Celtic heartland of Wales. You can clearly see the influences of her heritage in her designs as she combines the East and the West in this collection. The design features the technique of marquetry, which was used as far back as the 16th century. It reflects the rounded architectural composition of the forts’ castellation’s, whilst the detailed mother of pearl patterning creates a stunning iridescence. This variation in shade resembles the effect of the sun on the different elevations of the forts.
