Timber Strips Wallpaper by Piet Hein Eek was inspired by his travels to Japan, where timber is used in many ways. The working title for this new collection was “Zen Wood,” and that’s just what it is.
TIM 06 creates warmth and depth using trompe l’oeil wood effect wallpaper with diagonal panels that meet to create V-shaped angle repeats. The effect is one of dynamism, softened by the gentle variations in wood colour.
Timber Stripes is the successor to ‘Scrapwood,’ the ground-breaking digital wallpaper that created such an impact when it was released seven years ago. The designer, Piet Hein Eek, has taken inspiration from the way he saw wood used on trips to Japan, hence his working title for the new collection, ‘Zen Wood.’
